At first this movie annoyed the hell out of me. I almost hated the main player, the mom, who is a very manipulative woman trying to control her adult son’s life. She doesn’t agree with his relationship and does everything that’s in her power to sabotage. Letting go of her son is out of the question.

 

When the son causes a car accident and a 13-year old boy dies, the mother uses all of her power, money and connections – she is an influential Romanian lady – to keep him out of prison while he is just in shock, very numb and not capable of any action towards the boy’s family.

Towards the end of the movie you see the mother turn into a much more sensitive person and personally I started to feel sorry for her.
