♫ Taxiwars at Muziekgieterij Maastricht

When I was invited to a concert of Taxiwars, founded by Tom Barman of dEUS, I didn’t hesitate to confirm. Even though I knew it was jazz, I was confident I would still like it as I tend to like live jazz. Never ever listen to it at home though. But the largest part of the concert turned out to be the kind of nervous jazz that I really don’t like. It wasn’t until the end that Tom finally left his annoying voice transformer alone and showed us his real voice. Which was as always amazing. The last half hour was actually very nice. Next time I buy tickets for Tom, it will be for dEUS..

♫ Tindersticks at Carré

A short video overview of last night’s performance of Tindersticks at Carré in Amsterdam. Stuart Staples’ voice was perfect and sensitive as always, only a bit much depressing songs this time. The show could have been more bombastic for my taste.. By the way, who on earth invited that support act?! My ears are still bleeding.

Last but not least..

♫ Heather Nova

As I mentioned in a previous blog I instantly fell in love with Heather’s latest album. Didn’t dare to dream that I would finally see her live (in Stadsschouwburg Nijmegen). She still has that incredibly fragile voice that makes me cry. Moving back to the Netherlands is at least satisfying my hunger for live music 🙂
